Welcome

The Chaffey College Articulation Office serves as a link between Chaffey College and higher-education programs throughout California.  Accordingly, the Articulation Officer manages and updates campus articulation data, in order to maintain appropriate articulation of the District’s educational programs with the UC, CSU, and select private institutions.

Generally, courses listed in the college catalog as transferable provide credit according to the following categories:  unit credit; transfer agreement credit; general education credit; course-to-course agreement credit; and lower division major preparation credit.  Academic courses, particularly those which teach the concepts, theories, and findings of a particular discipline, count toward the general education patterns known as CSUGE and IGETC.  Courses with a more narrow or skills-based focus might provide credit towards a major, a specific course at a baccalaureate institution, or toward elective units.  In consultation with the California Intersegmental Articulation Council (CIAC), the Articulation Officer keeps current with policies and guidelines which affect the credit transferability of the Chaffey College curriculum, and acts as a liaison between the College and other institutions, conveying and receiving information about curriculum developments.

In addition to maintaining articulation data, the Articulation Officer serves as an information resource to the College.  As a member of the Curriculum Committee, the Articulation Officer helps guide curriculum proposals on both a course and program level.  As an affiliate to the Counseling Department, the Articulation Officer keeps counselors informed about updates to transfer pathways and major requirements.  In partnership with the Transfer Center, the Articulation Officer reviews transfer agreements with private institutions.

Information about some common articulation concerns is provided in the links below.   For answers about a specific articulation question, please contact the Articulation Officer via the phone number or e-mail address listed on this website.
