Greetings CDE 3 Class,

By way of virtual introduction, I am your professor. Please note your SYLLABUS for the Fall 2018 CDE 3 Classes is posted in the SYLLABUS SECTION. If you wish to have a hard copy to review while we review and discuss the syllabus during our first class meeting, please print out a copy. ALL the handouts and supporting materials (lecture Power Points, assignment instructions, letter to take while conducting Child or Center observations, observation tools, NAEYC Code of Conduct, DRDP 2015 Forms, the Environmental Rating Scale (ECERS) and example of completed assignments by former students, are found in COURSE RESERVE within my CDE 3 LIB GUIDES section.

Reflection and Review Journal
To complete the Reflection and Review assignment please do the following:
1. After you complete the "Observe and Apply" observations using the assigned assessment tool, begin to record your thoughts about (a) what did you learn about the purpose of the tool; (b) how would you use the tool as related to the Child Study Portfolio Summary; (c) what are your strengths or weaknesses (i.e. biases, perceptions, prior experience) when interpreting your child's developmental domain level.

ECERS - 3 Space and Furnishings
These subscales relate to how the overall environment supports the curriculum, the opportunities through materials, activities to support 'mastery' of each domain within the DRDP 2015 tool.
Summary Questions for ECERS
Each person will complete an individual paper answering the questions related to their segment of the ECERS completed. Please remember to submit your individual assigned segments of the ECERS and include with your completed responses.
