How to add a Librarian video

Adding Canvas content

When you get an email that looks like this, a faculty member added a librarian to their course:

Proceed to adding a Generic Template to their course, then email the instructor from your Chaffey email, letting them know that content has been added and asking them if they would like anything more specific to be added.

Go to Canvas and login with the generic librarian account (see Canvas for password)
You will see an invitation at the top of the page. First click on the course, then click accept.
If you click on accept first, the course will shuffle into the landing page and it might be difficult to find. The invitation will always be as a "ta".

Create a new guide in LibGuides, using the Research with Library Resources Templates
See more template information below. Edit template as needed. There are also subject-specific templates that may be relevant; please be sure to add the correct template.
Return to Canvas, go to appropriate course, click on discussions and add a new discussion
Title the discussion "Ask a Librarian"
Each semester, a new emoji icon is assigned to the start of the title. This is to easily identify outdated content.
Embed the LibGuide into the discussion

Once you click save, confirm everything loaded correctly. Then, click on discussions and confirm that you are subscribed to the discussion. The green flag icon means you are subscribed. If it is not green, click on it unt
Subscribing to the discussion will ensure that we are notified when students ask questions.

Once finished adding the class, archive the email, so that others know it's been done. Check email daily and answer any questions that students post in the discussions area.
Notify the faculty that their content has been updated (email template)
