Primary Sources Definition

Primary sources are first-hand accounts or original materials of history or events that were created at the time or period under study. Examples of primary sources include letters, journals, diaries, photographs, paintings, sculptures, interviews at the time of the event, and memoirs. They also include data such as census data, court and police records.
