Wikimedia Commons: DOUBLE CHECK the license for images at the bottom of the file's page.

Unsplash: Make sure you turn on the "Free" option in the License filter when searching for images. Read the Unsplash license.

Flickr Commons: Make sure you select the "No known copyright restrictions" filter when searching for images.

Public Domain Pictures: Choose the "Free Download" button after you select your image.
