Here at Chaffey, you have access to over 90,000 print books at our Libraries and full-text access to over 200,000 ebooks online!
Locating Print Books- Click on the title or image of a book in the results page to view more information. Scroll down on this next page to view information including the Location, Call Number, and Status.
- Location-Doublecheck location, especially for Reserve items, as we have Reserve collections at Chino, Fontana and Rancho. Reserve items can be used and returned only at item's home location.
- Status-If status listed is Available, book should be on our shelves. If other status such as Checked Out or Lost listed, item may not be available right away.
- Call Number- A book's/item's address in our Libraries. Needed to find on the shelf at Rancho site or to request from the front desk if on Reserve at any of our sites.
Chaffey ID required for check-out of books and use of Reserve items.
E-books- No call number listed and status shows Available Online Then, item is an e-book! Make a note of Title/Author, then search in the following resource, after logging in with your MyChaffey credentials:
Access to over 200,000 full-text eBooks, many by academic and university presses published in the past ten years. Good for reliable background information on broad topics.
Public e-book collections
Offering over 36,000 free e-books for download to your PC, Kindle, Android, iOS or other portable device, Project Gutenberg is probably the most recognizable free e-book destination on the Web. They offer ePub, Kindle, HTML and simple text formats in a variety of categories.
Over 95,000 new books written by the community’s 371,000 members are available on BookRix for free. They also offer foreign language and audiobooks.
Over 29,000 free eBooks are available for the Kindle, Nook, iPad and most other eReaders on Manybooks.net. Although many of the books on this site seem like old titles, they offer a wide range of genres, both fiction and non-fiction as well as books in many other languages.
Free-eBooks.net has a combination of older titles as well as brand new books written by some of its 900,000 members. The free membership allows 5 eBook downloads per month which are available in HTML, pdf, and txt formats as well as Mobile eReader Formats for Kindle, Sony, iPad, iPhone, and Nook devices.
